Mouthing the words ‘not quite’, his eyes squinted nearly shut in concentration until the lock finally clicked free. He pulled the key from the hole and shoved it back into the depths of his robes, though he really was moving the folds to the side to reach his breeches. He stole one final glance behind them and finally pushed the door open just enough for them to squeeze through.

He hated the basement, for more reasons then one. Forbidden objects were placed in here, scrolls and books and staffs alike. Tevinter statues and long forgotten Orlesian ornaments gathered dust and cobwebs and the entire area had a nose-wrinkling smell of must and rot. He slowly leaned against the door until it was shut and paused, listening once more. Though they were now alone with a large door separating them from the other chamber, he still spoke softly.

“The entrance to the caverns is near the back…” He whispered, moving away from the door. “Beneath a stone slab hidden by a crate…”

He wasn’t the only one that hated basements, who actually even enjoyed them? Sarah knew he was as concerned as she was, for when he looked back, she halted in her steps and jerked her head past her shoulder to perhaps catch a glimpse of something he possibly missed. Her attention was torn between him and what was displayed before her. A piece of webbing got caught on her face, causing her to erratically bat at her features in disgust.

Do people actually come down here? Apparently that was the case, she noticed a few staffs and started to pull away from the First Enchanter. A temporary staff wouldn’t be a bad thing to have, just in case she and Aunduin were delayed in their meeting. Would it be safe, however, to carry such a tool around, pretty much announcing to the world what she was? Thinking twice, Sarah stepped close to him and reached into one of her pouches for a piece of cheese.

“You know this passage quite well, does anyone else know about this?” She inquired quietly in return, trying to look up at the First Enchanter, but with the door shut, and the light no longer able to penetrate through, she had to guess where he was. Her hand reached in the shadows and rested at his arm. Keeping contact at all times, she went ahead and started to journey to the back; they were one step closer to freedom.
