He couldn’t help the curious tilt of his head as he took the parchment carefully from the man, both from his sudden change in behavior and hearing that the message was from a girl. He thanked the man just before his door slowly shut and the sound of retreating footsteps was heard. Just who was sending him such…well now why did it smell like that?
Seating himself back down in his seat, he placed the message on his desk and untied the ribbon, curling it into a tiny ball before flicking it away, more so for his own amusement then for any real reason. Breaking the wax carefully he slowly unfurled the parchment.
The parchment was filled with writing that was elegantly done with a quill and ink from a hand that was not hurried to finish. It reads like so..
Dear First Enchanter,
I really do hope this letter finds its way to your desk, would be rather embarrassing if another got a hold of it. I could only imagine their face upon smelling the paper. I made sure to make it appear as something a lover would write to the one who holds her heart. But you perhaps thought the same thing, didn’t you.. Oh how I wish to see your face become flustered with the thought.
But I digress, I wished to inform you that I was able to free myself from the confines that held me. You will find no corpse awaiting you, so if you had worried before, cast them aside, as I have told you before. I am still here, however, unable to truly leave just yet. Worry not, I will make sure not to come across another knight for the time remaining - but if I do, it was purposely done so I could see your grumpy face once more.
The risks a girl takes.
Be well, perhaps we will have words before I part.
Forever thankful,
Your favorite red-head.
