“Thank you…” He said distractedly, his eyes on the wolf that she had apparently tamed. He was less fearful that the wolf wasn’t completely wild. No, it was like his very own tame marten friend, or the Black Prince’s bear. He eyed the wolf for a long moment, though he was far too wise to look it in the eye. Animals hated being looked in the eye. It always made Gwin bristle and spit. Speaking of, where was the faithless creature? Surely still hunting…
She was very pretty, with hair almost like the fire he loved so much. And she was so… different than women were. He studied her for a moment too, as if trying to riddle out what made her so boisterous when most women were demure. But then, she had already turned to go.
“Ah, wait.” He called after her, hurrying to put his things away in his bag, before slinging it over his shoulder and catching up to her in a few loping strides. “You can’t go. You haven’t told me your name, or the name of your fine friend here.”
Sarah figured she would wander about the market, at least to gather a few provisions until she once again left the city walls. Though she belonged to the world not bound by any laws, except that of nature, something always drew her back to the hustle and bustle of life found here. Unfortunately, the people here shy away from folks like her, woodland travelers who tamed beasts, beasts they feared greatly. Granted, Aunduin was of a larger breed, menacing if threatened, though at the side of Sarah, there was no indication of malice.
The woman was oblivious to their gawking and the manner that they stepped away, clearing the street so she may pass. She thought it was rather polite of them! But the beast knew better, especially as they stared down at him with frightened gazes.
Behind her, she heard the man from just a few second pass, speak up. Sarah slowly turned around with a grin already forming at her cherry-kissed lips. “Sarah Fanelia, my companion here is Andy, Aunduin, he responds to both.” Sarah sauntered back to his direction; a hand fell to the dip of her waist, the other rested on the lupine’s head to offer him generous amounts of petting. Names were powerful things, and she had many different ones throughout the years, but this particular one was original.. and it carried nostalgia.
“Now, may I inquire your name?” She closed the distance between them quite suddenly and stood a few inches from his frame. It was then that her eyes were able to study his features once more, almost sizing him, for that matter. Finally, when her unsettled gaze rested on his own, lashes fell to half mast and she cants her head ever so slightly.
