“Yes, his name’s the Black Prince, but I think he’d give your coins back if he knew you were so hard up.” That was the Prince all over. Too kind, giving away his last bites of bread to hungry children even if he hadn’t eaten for days. Dustfinger always admired that about him, among other things. Shrugging his shoulders, he reached up to stroke the marten’s fur. “Peculiar, maybe, but I didn’t have a mother and father to give me a nice name like everyone else.” He smiled, however, tickled that she liked it enough.
The marten, Gwin, fearlessly hissed and spat and chattered at the wolf, bringing the master to laugh. “No, I think he’d much prefer to strike fear into the heart of Aunduin.” Dustfinger glanced down at the wolf again, holding out his hand for him to sniff if he wished. Wanting to earn a bit of trust. He was always quite good with animals. And, apparently, so was she, judging by the way Gwin stopped trying to taunt the fierce creature and instead turned his eyes on her and quieted. That was enough to give the fire-eater pause.
“Oh, yes, you’ll win him over surely…” He said, distractedly watching her. It wasn’t often that he saw someone so good with Gwin. Or someone who even seemed to like him at all. His own wife hated the little brute.
Ah but her beast, no.. her friend, finally did find some calm after seeing how the marten’s taunting, especially when a hand was held out for him to take a scent in. The intimidating size of the wolf would be worrisome for many to attempt something, but Aunduin would not lash out to someone who Sarah was befriending. A rough tongue dashed out from past his maw, and he forcibly rubbed his muzzle on the hand.
A pang of sympathy struck her fair features and her bottom lip was ensnared partially within her mouth. But it was replaced by a smile soon-after, for the name was suitable for the man, even if he pretty much had to name himself - or another had to do so.

“I would like to meet this Black Prince sometime! It is not often that I come across something like this, besides, we have never encountered a bear without having a bit of fright in our hearts,” of course, she spoke of Aunduin and herself, who agreed with a light bark. Behind her eyes danced a touch of wonder that brightened her pallid countenance completely. “And worry not of the coin, I am sure I will earn it just as quickly, coin is meant to be spent.”
“I hope to become a friend of his, Gwin that is,” she extended her fingers to the marten as Aunduin busied himself, circling the pair. His eyes were set on the little creature, who he wanted to familiarize himself with. “And of course, I would not mind making a new friend in his master,” grinning, the maiden looked to Dustfinger and light laughter escaped her parted lips.
Spinning around, the cloak danced around her heels, billowing about her legs as she looked about the market-place. “Now, where would you recommend us finding something delectable to eat. Our journey was long from the woods, that and I am in need of a fee other things,” the last part of the sentence melted into a whisper.
During the aimless wandering of her gaze, it settled on the round fellow from just moments before, who was speaking to a couple of fellows off to the side of her. Without much hesitation, she reached for Dustfinger’s hand and started to walk the opposite direction. No worry kissed her pleasant features, no indication of concern rose to her eyes.
“Perhaps while we gather something to eat, you could tell me a bit about your gift for the flame, for only those who are blessed have been able to manipulate such an element.” Blessed, she meant those that harbored the magical touch.
