The first statement caught him off guard and he was about to begin to scolding her for thinking that way, for risking herself for something so silly, but before he could utter a word she went on, muttering something that he found far more reasonable between the two, though he still felt the need to scold her.
“That is still no reason to return here…” He chided. Curiosity tugged at his attention, however, and his eyes fell on the satchel. Sure, around the Circle you had the choice of robes, robes, and more robes to disguise yourself with, maybe even braving the streets as brief as he did for those single one would test their courage and go in their night clothes. He had once, but even then it was obvious he was not of the streets and had been ambushed by bandits who figured the First Enchanter would be a wonderful hostage.
He straightened back up. “And why is that? Surely the girl…ah…Merrill would accompany you on your stroll?”
Any attempt of scolding the woman would have been simply be ignored. She was well aware of the risks she was taking when coming here - and it thrilled her to the very core. The adrenaline rush itself, when walking past the courtyard, was enough fuel to drive her to meeting his office door. Sarah wondered what his thought process was now, especially knowing she came all the way out here to simply ask for him to take a nightly stroll with her. If she were to send him a letter, they would never get things going.
“They can’t possibly keep you here, are you not free to leave these walls?” Seeing him leaning, she too stood up from his very own chair and planted her hands on the surface of the desk. Her chin lifted in an all-too familiar motion of defiance. “Don’t you want to taste a bit of freedom, even for a night? It is not like you would be alone, I will be there, holding your hand."
She chuckled quietly at his proposal to take Merrill out with her, "We have been out, First Enchanter or are you trying to work your way out of my proposition?” Sarah stood up and pushed the chair behind her with the back of her legs. Her penetrating look tried to hold his while coming around the desk until stopping a few inches short of his tall, limber self.
“Is there nothing you wish to do outside your tower?” Delicate fingers tapped at the satchel lightly while the other hand rested at the dip of her waist.
