charcoal-wings:

Castiel staggered as his feet touched the ground. His wings quivered with the effort of his last flight, and he had to lean against the first hard surface he found. A tree? He looked around, taking a shuddering breath as he tried to make sense of where he was. There was something wrong with his vessel’s eyes, he couldn’t see clearly.

Taking Aundiun out for a walk was one of the more pleasant things she did in the day. It was a beautiful time to enjoy a bit of fresh air instead of inhaling the scents of her oil paints - and after several hours -  this was well deserved. Thus, out she was with a bag in hand as the cool breeze brushed upon her cheeks. The sun had long settled and allowed the moon to spill its light across the land. She took in the world around her, how peaceful it had become when the night envelops everything.

It was a surprise to her when Aunduin, who was usually calm during their short walks, began to cause a commotion, even tugging so hard on the leash that Sarah nearly toppled over. His barks were loud, resounding off the trees surrounding them on their path in the park.

“Wait! H-Hey!” Finally, the tug was hard enough to snap the leash from her hands, forcing her to run over to the location where the wolf-breed had run off to. Never did she expect what she would find next.

The hallucinations, had they already started to plague her? Sarah, as startled as she was, had to take a step back after finally catching up to her companion. Standing in front of him was a man, but man wasn’t truly the word she would use to describe him. She rubbed her eyes vigorously with her fingers and shook her head; when she opened them, the winged figure was still there, leaning for support on a tree.

Carefully, cautiously, Sarah moved towards him, but was crouching down to take a hold of the leash and reign Aunduin back toward her. He barked still, as if he was seeing the same thing she was. If that was true, then she was not hallucinating after all.

“A.. are you, all right?” Fright had taken a hold of her heart and clutched it, for it took her a bit of strength just to utter that inquiry to him. Whatever he was, he was real.
