Odd job, odd patients.

There were not many people within the Alienage that could offer her assistance, several refused to get involved with one such as she – who seem to attract too much attention unto herself. Labeled as a troublemaker, one could only imagine how little amount of friends she had. But, a young woman seemed to have taken a liking to Sarah, her name was Merrill – and she was the one she went to regarding her ailments. Surprisingly enough, she had directed her to find a man that could help with the ongoing fever and the wound she wasn’t able to close up properly.

Not once had Sarah visited Darktown since her stay here; of course, who is not to say she heard rumors and was warned to stay away from going down there. She didn’t have much of an option, especially since her feverish condition made it nearly difficult to move for extended periods of time.

Thus, with the aid of her new-found friend, Merrill, Sarah dressed herself in an old dress and worn boots, draped a tattered cloak over her shoulders, it was the best she had at the time. A belt bag rested at her hips, which thankfully was concealed by the cloak due to the contents they carried. Her attire wasn’t in worse shape than how she possibly appeared to the public, especially with the hint of bags forming underneath her eyes. A once lovely face was now showing signs of fatigue and exhaustion. She was flushed, with made her freckles all the more pronounced.

With an arm draped over the freshly bandage wound, Sarah had made it to Darktown and made sure to keep her hair unkempt and across her features, to attempt to conceal her ears. Though she was not well, her eyes were not dulled over from the affliction. She was looking about, making sure that she was heading in the right direction and avoiding the passing glances of those she assumed would be slavers. There was a distinct smell that made her groan and hope that she would find Ander’s clinic soon to get out from the public eye.

Aunduin, being her guide, lead her to the clinic, and it was obvious she was in the right place from the look of the building. There was someone being assisted down a few steps and, by the looks of it, accompanied by someone else. The wolf barked lightly in greeting as Sarah stopped at the lower step and turned her attention to the elderly fellow taking his leave. His eyes lingered on her features for a moment, but she withdrew her gaze to turn her attention to the man at the threshold of the building.

“Excuse me, this is the clinic, correct?” Her voice gave away the slight uneasiness she had whilst slowly ascending the steps. Depths of viridian hue lowered to Aunduin, the beast who rested his head on the palm of her free hand. Sarah smiled warmly as she used him to keep her upright, since she nearly tripped over her own feet. “I was directed here, hopefully I am at the right place. I am looking for Anders?”

He was described to her earlier, and now, she felt even more foolish for asking. The hint of embarrassment touched her features as she tilted her head down, letting her fiery crown spill forth. “Sorry, not really familiar with these parts.” She slowly pulled her hand from around her frame and lifted her chin in his direction. Quietly, she studied him and nearly parted her lips to speak again, but her attention was drawn past him, in hopes that she did not take up his time if he was already so busy.

“You’re in luck, you’re speaking to him right now.” he offered her a smile, taking note of her discomfort. His own gaze quickly fell on the arm resting on her wound. The only thing that made Anders stop his advance was the beast at this woman’s side. It was something different to encounter here, that was for sure. Shaking off the bewilderment at the sight, he continued his approach.

He didn’t get too close just yet, observing her as much as she ended up observing him. She looked dreadful from what he saw just now, beside the wound. Anders did not get much a chance to see her up-close, her hair already concealing her face when she had lowered her head. “I don’t blame you. If you can avoid Darktown that’s only for the best.”

Now that she had lifted her head again, Anders could finally get a good look. Her condition wasn’t as bad as it had looked from a distance. Which was good. But the woman was obviously ill. Golden brown eyes flicked to the wound and back to her face as he began to wonder if the fever she seemed to suffer from was linked to the wound, signaling a infection. Ignoring the beast, he took a step closer, offering to help her into the clinic.

“How long have you been walking around like this for?” He began to suspect that seeking out help had not been her first priority. Damn, he really hated it when people did that. No, he shouldn’t draw his conclusions just yet. All he had to focus on now was getting her the help she so obviously needed.

“Oh, wonderful, I didn’t wish to assume.” The words were barely a whisper as Sarah tried to elude the heat overwhelming her features. She was not blushing purposely, the fever had competed to turn her pallid features to a color that would rival her own tresses. Aunduin perked his ears and stared at Anders, simply out of caution. There was no sound of aggression from the beast, but he did want to get a good scent from the man. His wish was granted when the man came forward; immediately the massive wolf met him half way and began to sniffing about at his legs.

She was ashamed of her condition, it was not often that she would find herself brought down with such ailments. But this was no common cold, she was infected with whatever was on the blade from the bandit she came across. The last thing she wanted to deal with was poison, but the woman already chalked it up to it being a rusted blade. Convinced of that, she didn’t think this was too serious, until it enabled the fever. Hopefully this man could relieve her of this.

With his assistance, Sarah stepped up and sighed out a thank you. “Perhaps two days until I started to notice that it was not getting better, I wanted to set out and find some herbs to alleviate it but.. I am afraid I wouldn’t really do well on my own.” Fingers took a firm grip of his arm as she cringed, even curled her toes within her boots, at the aggravating ache. This was a reminder to avoid fights – if she could – though she did not really go out seeking them!

“Thank you, for taking me in. Though, if this is an inconvenience, please let me know. You must have patients waiting for you to attend to them before me.” Despite her weathered look, Sarah managed to offer him an apologetic smile before lowering her gaze to Aunduin, who she extended a hand to so he would remain at the threshold and not go any further.
