“No, no it’s..” Sarah felt out of place. She wasn’t one that had out-worldly powers nor an appearance that hinted at that. Once upon a time, in another life unbeknownst to her, she was the one that summoned the wyverns of heaven, was of elven-blood, experienced magic! But in this world, in this time, her dreams were the only hints that opened her eyes to such things. But now, she was actually experiencing it. This was no dream. “Sure, as the song goes,” Sarah said quietly and trying to conceal her embarrassment Perhaps it was best that she had not questioned it. “I do find it extraordinary, though I haven’t really experienced anything ‘out of the norm’ as of late. I suppose I do not get out much or attract preternatural creatures.”
“Well, Millen is a bit of a melting pot.” He gave a little bit of a shrug. Hadn’t really thought about it from a human’s point of view. “Sky City is the common neutral ground. Even get some hunters in here from time to time.”
Rune had no such past. More of a glorified since project than anything else.
“So you are safe here, from these hunters..” She stated quietly, though the word hunter triggered a feeling of unease that she could not fully understand. “I never imagined such a place were to exist, I never hear stories like this back home.. which makes me wonder why they chose to put my work on exhibit here.” Sarah paused in thought as a finger brushed the rim of her glass. She found it best to continue the silence by downing the rest of her drink, which left her with quite the after taste.
“I am sorry, you never told me how much this was,” A grimace painted her fair, comely countenance. A flush rushed to her speckled cheeks and Sarah dipped her head down to conceal it.
