A bit of laughter burst out of Rune. “Me safe from them? I’m pretty sure if I went on a mean streak and went hunter hunting, they would have little to no chance at all. Most specialize in vampires and werewolves it seems anyway.”
He held up his hand when she offered to pay. “Don’t worry about it, drink is on the house. You seem like the kinda person who needs to unwind a bit anyway.”
Do you recall the story of Alice in Wonderland? Sarah does. Right now, she felt like a certain Alice within this city of creatures that were once rumored to have existed in time past and those that one could only find in books and movies. She began to wonder, just how deep this rabbit hole truly went.
“Oh? I do?” Yes, it was obvious, but she didn’t really mask it well either. Sarah brushed her finger over the side of the glass, tapping it with her nail lightly before offering a light smile, “I think my psychologist thought so as well, actually. Who would have thought that she would prescribe ‘Go to a bar, have a drink and relax’ as tonight’s form of medication.” Sheepishly, she closed the clutch and set it at her lap.
“But thank you, hopefully, the next time I stop by, I won't embarrass myself this bad,” Sarah said quite sheepishly while brushing a few curls from her ruddy cheeks.
