“Really the main thing to keep in mind is not to go out too often after dark. The more uh…colorful people come out then.” Again, his having lived in the city this long was showing, since he was dismissive about it.
“I can cook if you like. Food as well as drink here.” He smiled. “Pretty wide range too. Getting dark anyway, so I drive you back to you back to your hotel.”
The darkness was never something she really enjoyed. Often, she spent time with Aunduin in the evenings when they were out for their walks. But, the hotel wouldn’t allow her to bring him, and boy, was she missing her companion now.
Sarah shifted uncomfortably at his words and began to rub the back of her neck. She only came here for her art show, not to become a target. The clutch was pulled against her lap and a glance was given to the nearest window. Indeed it was getting darker and an unwelcoming sensation crawled along the back of her neck.
It was Rune that reeled her back in when he spoke of cooking, “Oh, no you don’t need to do all of that for me! Honestly, I couldn’t ask you to do this.” Sarah smiled and bit the corner of her lip. “Are you sure about driving me to the hotel? I don’t want to inconvenience you.” It would save her taxi fare, for sure! But, Sarah didn’t wish to burden him either.
