Seems they were going a tad bit fast, weren’t they? Sarah nervously looked out the windows, and at the side view mirrors, to make sure no police cars were within their vicinity. Last thing she wanted was for them to get pulled over. Not a great way to end a pleasant evening!

Once he started to speak, Sarah turned to his direction yet kept her hands settled on her lap, nervously turning the clutch over a few times. “There.. there was a brawl that swept through? Like a gang of sorts?” They came to a red light; Sarah stared at it for a moment before directing her attention back to Rune.

“Washington state, the Tri-Cities area.” There was nothing like this back at home. It was dull, quiet, but Seattle wasn’t too far. “I have a place in Seattle, I spend some months there.” Shifting in the seat, her hands took a grip of the seatbelt, brushing it lightly, “Have you been?”

“Kinda. Mobs weren’t seeing eye to eye for a while. The one of the locals got possessed by a trickster god and the crap hit the fan after he did some poking.” He took a turn as she told him to, cutting around some slower traffic.

“Before that the sun opened up into a portal and some alien race from back home came out. Seemed bent on using our star for fuel.” He might have said that a little too casually, like it was normal around here.

“I’ve been close I think? Niagara Falls, doing a job there.”

She understood the mob situation, the trickster part was a bit odd, but she was coming to understand that this was just how things were around here. Sarah listened with interest, but looked on to the traffic as well as they neared her hotel.

It was the next series of words that caused a double take. Portals. Aliens. What? Oh, there was nothing normal about this, Sarah’s brows rose as she simply stared in sheer disbelief. Fingers came to pinch at the bridge of her nose just at how nonchalant he was about this!

“Uh..” She began stammering. She hated doing that. “Uh.. yeah, no, wait Niagara is a good distance away still. But, what are you doing up there? If you don’t mind me asking.” Please, for the love of Pete, she hoped it was something a bit more down to Earth.
