“Oh Rune, just don’t mention that you work with the mafia and whatnot. As long as some brute doesn’t come charging in here, looking for you, I believe we will be just fine.” She couldn’t believe the words that left her lips. Never would she imagine herself speaking so nonchalant regarding dealings with deviants.“Honestly, unless you really wish to perhaps purchase a few pieces of art, I don’t see why you would bother remembering even their faces. I know one thing is for certain. I have several thank you notes to send out when I get home.” Lifting the glass, by its slender stem, she smiled in his direction.
“I hope I wasn’t too forward in inviting you to dinner. I mean, not that we are alone, though I rather have company I could speak with rather than surrounding myself with strangers.”
“Well, no one coming for me at the moment, so no need to worry about that.” At the moment. That must have been a comfort to her. “Not with them. I’m neutral in all of that. I just help out sometimes when we need to keep the city from being turned over.”
He set the wine glass down, going for the water instead. “I might. Be a nice way to decorate my loft a bit. And no, you weren’t too forward. Nothing planned for the night anyway.”
“Thankfully, no one is going to barge in here and point guns to our faces or anything of the sort - then?” She rested her chin at the palm of her hand and looked over to the other guests of the restaurant. The food was arriving for them but Sarah made sure that her dinner would arrive with Rune’s. She felt it was rude of her to eat before him without him enjoying a bite for himself, after all.
“Well, thank you for coming,” she tapped her glass against the one filled with water. “I leave at the end of this week, I am traveling to New York for awhile and then back home. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you, for the little tips you have given me. So far, nothing unusual has happened.” She furrowed her brows slightly, “Nothing out of the usual other than I can’t seem to find rest.”
