“Well, it is rather wet.” She smiled and kept the glass in her opposite hand while tapping the plate with her fork. “A lot of nice seafood restaurants there,” she spoke into her glass and darted her eyes in his direction. The meal was nearly complete and she sat back, already full from consuming far too much. Her eyes were hungrier than her stomach. “London, you go across the sea? Business? Pleasure?”
“Accident. I think I told you, but Millen is on a rift in space and time. It seems to like sending me to London a lot of all places. So I just ended up buying a flat there so I have a place to sleep and then take a portal home.” He gave a shrug as he started getting the last of his food off his plate.
She cringed and then sheepishly rubs the back of her neck. The other hand swiveled the wine in the glass lightly before bringing it to her lips, “Lucky you, don’t need to fly a plane or anything.” With a light sigh, she took a small portion of her drink and then started to turn to the other patrons as they finished their own meals.
The night was coming to a close soon, especially since the checks were going to come out any moment. “I’d like to visit one day, travel overseas. I might take a small vacation sometime, bring a sketchbook and backpack, go to the outdoors..”
